Frankincense has been used for thousands of years, recent demand has surged and resulted in over-harvesting. This has caused a serious reduction in the tree population, but working directly with the Sultan of the Sanaag region of Somaliland and through good management & sustainable practices, the industry can survive to provide high quality and beneficial essential oils as well as improving the lives of the harvesting communities in Somaliland.
